    MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday conducted an aerial inspection of some areas devastated by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

    He specifically inspected the National Capital Region, Laguna, Batangas, and Cavite areas.

    As of 11 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said the center of Kristine was last spotted 255 kilometers west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union.

    It was moving west-northwestward at 15 km per hour, maintaining maximum sustained wind speeds of 95 kph and gustiness of 115 kph.

    Kristine is forecast to gradually intensify over the West Philippine Sea and is likely to remain a severe tropical storm in the next five days.

    The intense rains and flooding in the past few days also left 10,015 people stranded in ports nationwide as of the morning of October 25, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.

    Furthermore, Kristine affected over 2.6 million people and reportedly killed 13 others nationwide.
