    Filipino actresses Kathryn Bernardo and Kaila Estrada were among the national winners in the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2024 after they bagged the Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Actress in a Supporting Role, respectively. 

    Bernardo took home the top acting honors for her role as Philomena Angeles in the 2023 black comedy thriller film “A Very Good Girl,” while Estrada snatched her acting plum for her performance as Sylvia Lualhati in the thriller drama series “Linlang” (Deceit).

    “Linlang” also won Best Drama Series, while actor JM de Guzman secured the Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

    On the other hand, TV and movie director Mae Cruz-Alviar won Best Direction for the Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan-led romance series “Can’t Buy Me Love.”

    Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s Philippine adaptation of “What’s wrong with Secretary Kim?” won Best Adaptation of an Existing Format, a collaboration by Viu and ABS-CBN.

    Other ABS-CBN shows that emerged victorious are “ASAP Natin ‘To Live in Milan” for Best Music or Dance Program, while “It’s Showtime” bagged the Best General Entertainment Program award.
